Halladay should be more than fully rested because he went on Saturday and now on Friday
meanwhile, the Cardinals keep sending Carpenter out there
he is good and will now be rested
there is usually a five-man rotation, so you pitch every fifth day
Friday is the sixth day
so Halladay is over-rested
Carpenter should be just rested enough
however, they say that the worst part about pitching on short rest like he did last time around is not the start itself but the start afterwards

1. 80 degree weather.
2. last day of “class.”
3. lunch date with new boy by the pond.
4. booking flight to dallas.
5. running into M and walking home together.

Either you cared enough to stop and talk to them, or you cared enough to acknowledge them but not really stop to say hi, or you just ignored them and kept on walking. And when there was a mismatch between how you categorized a person, and how they categorized you, awkwardness ensued.
